Pitot tube speedometers work by pressing water into the pressure of the pitot tube. Then, the pressure is transmitted through the flexible tube to the movement of the Bourdon tube inside the speedometer head, and is converted into a speed reading by the movement mechanism. If your boats odometer shows inaccurate speed or does not show speed at all, the problem usually lies with the Pitot tube. Replace old or warning pitot tubes with Faria’s universal pitot tubes. !!!!—-
